My name is Meleby Nyika. In 2022, I graduated from Makerere University. Ready for the next chapter, I faced a common problem: I couldn't travel with my most valuable possession—the 32" smart screen I'd bought with my own money for $200. I didn’t just need to sell the TV. I'm only selling it because I'm traveling.” We haggled. We negotiated. We danced the marketplace dance. Finally, the gentleman settled on my price: $150. WOW. I had used a $200 TV for a year and walked away with $150. That was a great deal for me. But here’s the real deal: the buyer also got an almost-new TV for $150. The online platform made the double win happen. It proved that with transparency, when you connect the right buyer and the right seller, everyone succeeds. But when I arrived in South Sudan, searching for that same seamless platform, it simply did not exist. It was a huge gap.
