Store description excerpt

Everything you need is already in the building. A cup of sugar. A drill you'll use once. A suitcase for one trip. Somewhere on your floor, someone has it — and would happily lend it, if only they knew you needed it. Sugar is how they find out. HOW IT WORKS Ask for something, and the neighbors most likely to have it get a quiet notification. Whoever has one taps "I've got one." You chat, sort out the details, and pick it up. When you're done, you mark it returned and you each leave a rating. That's the whole app. No listings to browse for an hour, no bidding, no strangers driving across town. THE PANTRY Every afternoon at three, the Pantry opens: things your neighbors are giving away for good — the coffee grinder they replaced, the plant that outgrew the windowsill. First come, first served, and free. INVITE ONLY, ON PURPOSE You get in with a code from someone already in your building. That's not exclusivity for its own sake — it's the reason lending works here. You're not handing your drill to a stranger from the internet. You're handing it to the person in 4B. Ratings go both ways, so lending well counts as much as borrowing well. You can block anyone silently, and report anything at all — reports are read by a person and acted on within 24 hours. FREE, AND ACTUALLY FREE No subscription. No ads. No tracking, no analytics SDKs, nothing sold to anybody. Sugar collects what it needs to put you in touch with your neighbors and nothing else, and there is no version of it you have to pay for. WHAT IT'S FOR Borrowing a ladder. Lending your good scissors. Finding out that the person two doors down has a sewing machine. Using things more than once. Meeting the people you already live beside. Everything you need is already in the building. Sugar is just how you ask.
