STUNDA v2 is a mobile application that is used for research purposes to investigate people's security experiences in everyday life. The app is based on scientific methods and is inspired by previous research where participants contribute insights by answering short surveys during the day and a slightly longer daily survey in the evening. The aim is to understand how security is affected by place, time, activity and social context. When you download the app and agree to participate in the study, you start by filling in an initial questionnaire about, for example, age, gender, personality and lifestyle. After that, you will receive a couple of notifications every day where you are asked to answer a couple of short "quick surveys". You need to answer these within 20 minutes of receiving a notice, otherwise the survey will be deactivated. The questions are about where you are, what you are doing, who you are with and how safe you feel at that particular moment. In the evening, you will also be reminded to fill in a daily survey summarizing how you felt safe during the day. It is also possible for any network to report an unsafe event afterwards through a special survey. When you answer the quick survey, the app also automatically records the time and geographic location to give the researchers a better understanding of security patterns over time and space. For privacy reasons, the geographical location is not registered if you state that you are at home. Otherwise, your answers are treated anonymously and used solely for research purposes.
