To protect Nieuwpoort and its surroundings, the Maritime Services and Coastal Agency is building a storm surge barrier at the mouth of the Yser. The project will be fully completed in 2025. Via this app, users of the waterway can stay informed of blockages, tides, wind, waves and currents at the height of the storm surge barrier.
