Store description excerpt
Fill the squares. Find the picture. Still Life is a nonogram — a logic puzzle where numbers around the edge of a grid tell you which squares to fill. Work out which ones, and a picture appears. NO GUESSING. EVER. Every puzzle here is checked by machine before it ships, and checked again by the app every time it opens, to be certain it has exactly one solution and that solution can be reached by pure logic. Anything that fails is thrown away rather than patched. You are never asked to guess and hope. If you are stuck, it means there is a deduction somewhere you have not spotted yet — and there always is one. THE MOMENT THE PICTURE APPEARS The grid is deliberately quiet: black ink on warm paper, no clutter, nothing flashing for your attention. All of that restraint is in service of one moment — the grid dissolving and leaving the picture behind. Finished pictures are printed to your album, in colour. OVER 200 LEVELS, IN ORDER Levels are ordered by how long they actually take rather than by grid size, so the difficulty climbs steadily from a five-by-five you will solve in under a minute to twenty-by-twenty boards that take a while. One at a time, in order. A PUZZLE A DAY One daily puzzle, the same one for everybody, always available even if you are stuck on your current level. THREE HEARTS Fill a square that is not part of the picture and it costs a heart. The square is never filled in, so the board in front of you is always correct — nothing wrong ever ends up on it. Three mistakes and the board restarts with a clean grid. WHAT IS NOT IN HERE No adverts. No timers. No lives that refill on a clock. No coins, gems or currency of any kind. No account, no sign-in, and nothing to buy. It works completely offline, because every puzzle is already in the app. Optional, anonymous usage statistics help us see which puzzles work. You are asked once, you can say no, and you can change your mind in Settings at any time.
