APP OVERVIEW Step App is a privacy-first personal step and walking tracker for iPhone. All data is stored and processed entirely on the user's device. There is NO account, NO login, and NO sign-up required — the app opens straight into its features. TARGET AUDIENCE & PURPOSE The app is for everyday users who want to stay active and build a consistent walking habit. It solves the problem of scattered, hard-to-read fitness data by turning the user's own step activity into simple daily goals, progress insights, motivational coaching, and lightweight challenges. HOW TO ACCESS & TEST 1. Launch the app. No login is required — the app opens directly to the Home tab. 2. When prompted, tap "Allow" to let the app read step/health data from Apple Health (HealthKit). On a device without health data, or if you decline, the app automatically falls back to CoreMotion and to built-in sample data so every screen still demonstrates full functionality. 3. Explore the five tabs: Home (today's steps/goal), Journey (walk sessions & route map), Insights (charts & on-device AI insights), Challenges (step goals), and Profile (settings, goal, appearance). No demo credentials are needed because the app has no account system. EXTERNAL SERVICES / TOOLS USED - Apple HealthKit — to read the user's step, distance, active-energy and exercise data (with the user's permission). - Apple CoreMotion — on-device pedometer used as a fallback for step data. - Apple CoreLocation — used only to draw the route map for walk sessions. - SwiftData — Apple's on-device local database. All user data stays on device. - The "AI" features are on-device heuristic/statistical models (see AIEngine). They do NOT call any external AI service or server. - The app uses NO third-party servers, NO analytics SDKs, NO advertising, and NO payment processors. There are no in-app purchases. REGIONAL DIFFERENCES The app functions identically in all regions. There are no region-specific features, content, or restrictions. REGULATED INDUSTRY / THIRD-PARTY MATERIAL The app is not part of a regulated industry. It provides general, non-medical motivational information only and does not offer medical advice or diagnosis. It contains no protected third-party material.
