StealthLedger is a portfolio tracker built around a single idea: your holdings are your business, not ours. Every balance you enter is encrypted on your device before it is ever sent anywhere. The encryption key is derived from your own passphrase using a slow, memory hard key derivation function (scrypt) combined with AES 256 GCM authenticated encryption. Your passphrase never leaves your device, and we never see it, and we never see your unencrypted portfolio. If our servers were ever compromised, an attacker would find nothing but encrypted noise. Journalists, long term holders, privacy conscious investors, and anyone who has ever felt uneasy typing their balances into a normal finance app. How the encryption works, in plain terms: Your passphrase is put through scrypt, a deliberately slow function that resists brute force guessing far better than a simple password hash. The output becomes your vault key. That key encrypts your portfolio data using AES 256 GCM, the same authenticated encryption standard used to protect banking and government data. The encrypted result, and only the encrypted result, is what our servers ever store or transmit. There is no support workflow, no admin panel, no password reset flow that can ever reveal your holdings, because there is nothing on our end to decrypt. StealthLedger does not sell your data, because StealthLedger cannot read your data.
