Store description excerpt

Stand Tall is a new free budgeting app that teaches you how to manage your money. Choose where to focus your finances and learn how to live independently . There are bills to pay, food and travel to budget for, plus loads of fun things to spend your money on. Get it right and your happiness will soar, but spend too much and you’ll have a financial headache! The game has been developed by IHC in New Zealand, and organisation that advocates for the rights, inclusion and welfare of all people with intellectual disabilities and supports them to live satisfying lives in the community. The game simulates what it could be like living in a flat with 4 flatmates. The player is presented with real-world scenarios and the choices they make may affect their budget, or their well-being. Each game level introduces new financial concepts as well as challenges, typical for living. with others. Games are a safe way of learning and any mistakes only have consequences in the game and not in real life. Scenario choices in the game can give players, parents, cargivers and teachers a good indication of skills that need more work and can prompt further out-of-game discussions. The game is supported by voice over and is rolled out as an ongoing story where the player is always faced with 3 possible choices for each scenario. Each game level has quests, including finding a job, learning to drive a car, finding new flatmates, etc. and more. Stand Tall has been developed with young people with intellectual disability and autism. Each stage of the games' development included workshops to ensure users get maximum benefit from playing the game. This game has • NO in-game monetisation • NO in-app advertising • NO 3rd party data mining Stand Tall was developed to benefit anyone who struggles wants to learn to live independently and has provided great learning results for young people with intellectual disability, Down syndrome, and autism. Any young person will learn about independent living from playing the game.
