SSH Switch is a small, native macOS utility that finally makes your SSH keys make sense. Most tools blur everything into one confusing "enabled" state. SSH Switch shows the three states that actually matter, separately and clearly: - Available on disk, in your ~/.ssh folder - Loaded in the running SSH agent - Assigned to a host in your SSH config So you always know which key exists, which one is loaded, and which identity a given host will actually use. WHAT YOU CAN DO - See every SSH key on your Mac at a glance, with algorithm, fingerprint, and file path - See exactly which identities are loaded in the agent right now - Switch identity in one click, and your git and ssh connections use the selected key immediately - Create a new SSH key in the app and copy it straight to GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket - Import keys by dragging in files, a folder, or a .zip - Back up your entire ~/.ssh folder, keys and config, in one click - Inspect any key: fingerprint, comment, permissions, and the hosts that use it - Manage host entries in ~/.ssh/config with a safe, visual editor - Restore your last active key automatically after a restart BUILT FOR SAFETY - Private key contents are never read, shown, or copied - Every change to ~/.ssh/config is preceded by a timestamped backup, with one click undo - Only the lines it needs to change are touched; the rest of your config is preserved - Passphrase-protected keys are unlocked once and remembered in your keychain - Loose file permissions, missing public keys, and duplicate fingerprints are flagged - Third party agents like 1Password, Bitwarden, and Secretive are detected and shown as read only LIVES IN YOUR MENU BAR Left click the menu bar icon for a compact view of your agent, your active identity, and one click switching. Right click for quick preferences, a Dock toggle, and quit. Open the full window when you want the complete picture across Overview, Agent, Keys, Hosts, Import and Backup, and Activity.
