Splash is a no-fuss plant care reminder app for people who want their houseplants to thrive without subscriptions, accounts, or someone watching what they do. ▸ Add a plant. Give it a name and a photo. ▸ Set reminders for any care task — water, fertilize, mist, rotate, prune, repot. Each task has its own schedule and time of day. ▸ Get a local notification when it’s time. Tap “Done” and Splash automatically schedules the next one. Optional AI plant identification: ▸ Point your camera at a plant (or type its name) and Splash uses Google’s Gemini AI to identify it, suggest a care plan, and pull a reference photo from Wikipedia. You review and tweak before saving — you’re always in control. ▸ Bring your own free Gemini API key (one-time setup, no credit card required). Splash never bills you and never has access to your account. Something looking sickly? Diagnose it: ▸ Photograph an ailing plant and Splash assesses its health — severity, the likely culprits (pests, disease, over- or under-watering, light stress), and a numbered treatment plan you can actually follow. ▸ Honest about uncertainty. Each possible cause is marked “likely” or “possible”, because one photo only tells you so much. Your library, your files: ▸ Export every plant — notes, schedules, and photos — to a single file. Back it up, or import it on a new phone and pick up where you left off. ▸ Your API key is never included in an export, so sharing a backup can’t leak your credentials. Designed around three rules: ▸ Your data stays on your device. No accounts. No cloud sync. No analytics, no telemetry, no ads. Nothing leaves your phone except the optional AI calls — and those only happen when you tap “Identify with AI” or “Diagnose plant”. ▸ Notifications are local, scheduled on your device. They work offline and don’t depend on any server. ▸ Plain, fast, no clutter. No “premium tier”. No “social features”. One job, done well. Permissions: ▸ Notifications — to deliver reminders.
