Baby monkey. Big spacesuit. One very broken ship. A gang of space gorillas boarded the ship, stole its twelve glowing Warp Crystals, and scattered to the nearest planets. Now the smallest astronaut aboard has to fight his way off the burning ship, patch it up enough to hop between worlds, and win those crystals back one boss at a time. Space Monkeys is a bright, chunky, Saturday-morning-cartoon platformer built from the ground up for touchscreens. Run, jump, double-jump, stomp and tail-whip your way across five hand-built levels, hop between them in three arcade flying stages, and take on five goofy bosses. WHAT'S IN THIS RELEASE — ACT ONE • Five hand-built levels: The Crashing Ship, Crash Site, Scrap Planet, Glow Jungle and Ancient Ruins • Three "Ship Hop" flying stages between planets — weave through asteroids and gorilla fighters • Five boss fights: the Cyborg Gorilla Commander, the Crag Stomper, the Junk-Bot, the Jungle Dweller and the Golem • Five of the twelve Warp Crystals to win back — Act One is the opening chapter of the journey home • A star map that remembers exactly how far you have got • Bananas to collect, health cells to find, and shield, jetpack and banana-magnet power-ups to grab • Four kinds of alien critter to dodge and stomp — pacers, flyers, spitters and spiky ones BUILT FOR THUMBS • Big, forgiving touch controls: move on the left, jump and attack on the right • Hold all three at once — a second finger never cancels the first • Coyote time, jump buffering and variable jump height, so a near-miss usually still works • Three lives, a four-cell health bar, and a checkpoint right before every boss • Made to be finished, not to punish FRIENDLY BY DESIGN • Nobody dies. Beaten critters squash flat and pop away; beaten bosses spin away to safety • No blood, no jump scares, no dark corners — just bright colours and silly gorillas • Music for every world, sound effects for everything, and a one-tap mute on the title screen PLAYS ANYWHERE • The game plays fully offline — every level, boss and stage works with no connection • A small number of family-safe ads: always non-personalized, always G-rated, tagged child-directed. Offline, they simply don't appear • One optional in-app purchase that removes the ads. It is the only thing that costs money, and nothing in the game is locked behind it • No account, no sign-up, no email address • Your progress is saved on your device and nowhere else Space Monkeys is made by Pelican Drop Studios, a tiny independent studio. Act One recovers five crystals; seven are still out there.
