Store description excerpt

Check a dog or cat food label, barcode or product name. Snacco compares readable ingredients with a curated, cited toxin list for the selected species and explains what it finds. No result guarantees that a food is safe. FREE LABEL, BARCODE AND PRODUCT CHECKS Read an ingredients label on your iPhone, look up a barcode through Open Pet Food Facts, or search by product name. No account or subscription is needed for these checks. An incomplete or unsupported label needs another read; missing information is never treated as a clear result. CHECKS FOR EACH PET Keep separate dog and cat profiles and record ingredients you choose to avoid. Personal ingredient preferences are shown separately from known-toxin findings. A mixed-household warning can flag a concern for your other pet without changing the active pet's result. FINDINGS WITH SOURCES Fixed rules check the readable ingredients against published references. Each toxin finding identifies the ingredient and its source. A Photo check identifies visible food only: it cannot reveal everything in a mixed dish or replace an ingredients label. SAVED FOODS AND PREVIOUS CHECKS Find named foods and earlier scans in the Foods tab. Previous results retain the date and context of the original check. Pack details are entered and confirmed by you; saving a lot or date code does not establish recall coverage or an exact batch match. US AND AUSTRALIAN RECALL NOTICES Browse published US FDA notices and Australian ACCC and PFIAA pet-food recalls. Optional alerts can flag a possible match with food in your on-device history. These sources do not cover every recall. Check the original notice for affected batches and distribution. Recall matching stays on your phone. An empty feed or lack of an alert is not an all-clear. OPTIONAL PHOTO CHECKS WITH SNACCO+ Photograph a food, confirm what it is, then see the fixed-rule check and its limits. Photo checks require a Snacco+ subscription. Monthly and annual plans provide the same Photo features, with prices shown by the App Store. Label, barcode and product searches, saved foods and recall alerts remain free. PRIVACY No account, ads or tracking. Label photos are read on your iPhone; recognized ingredient text is sent for transient checking. For an optional Photo check, a downscaled, metadata-stripped image passes through our backend to Anthropic's Claude API only to identify the food. Snacco does not retain submitted photos on its backend. You can choose to keep a separate photo copy in app storage on this iPhone; removing that copy does not delete the original from your Photos library. Device backups may include app storage. Anonymous purchase verification, push tokens and crash diagnostics support app functionality as described in our Privacy Policy. Snacco provides information, not veterinary advice or a guarantee of safety. If your pet may have eaten something harmful, contact your veterinarian or a local animal poison-control service.
