Store description excerpt
SlyTab keeps track of money between people who already trust each other — a family, a house share, a group of friends on a trip. Everyone can see what was spent, what their share is, and who owes whom. Add an expense and it splits equally by default. When equal is not right, split by exact amounts, by shares, by percentage, or split equally and adjust one person for the extra drink. More than one person can pay for the same expense, because who paid and how it is shared are separate questions. Photograph a receipt and the total, date and line items come back filled in. From there you can assign items to whoever ate them, which is what you want when three of you shared the starter and one did not. Receipts are read on our own server — no third-party service is involved, and photo location data is stripped when it arrives. Spending abroad works properly. Each expense keeps the currency it was actually paid in, converted at that day's rate, and the group settles in one currency of its choosing. You can also see balances in each currency, unconverted, if you would rather settle each one on its own. When it is time to square up, SlyTab works out the fewest payments that settle everyone — rather than everybody paying everybody — and records a settlement once the other person confirms it. SlyTab does not hold your money and never asks for bank details. Payments happen between you, however you already pay each other; the app just keeps the arithmetic honest. No adverts. No subscriptions. Nothing sold to anyone.
