Store description excerpt
Have you ever looked up at an airplane in the sky and wondered: "Where is that plane going?" "Which airline is it?" "What type of aircraft is it?" SkyPlane helps you answer those questions. Using your iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch, you can discover aircraft flying near your current location and view detailed information about them. 【See Nearby Aircraft on the Map】 View aircraft near your current location directly on the map. Aircraft icons show information such as the aircraft type, airline, and destination airport. Aircraft in flight are displayed in blue, while aircraft on the ground are displayed in orange. Turn "Flight Only" on to hide aircraft on the ground and display only aircraft that are currently flying. Aircraft position data is refreshed approximately every 20 seconds. 【View Detailed Aircraft Information】 Tap an aircraft on the map or in the list to view detailed information. Available information may include: - Flight number - Airline - Aircraft type - Aircraft registration - Departure airport - Destination airport - Distance from your current location - Altitude - Speed - Direction of the aircraft from your location (Azimuth) - Direction in which the aircraft is traveling (Track) 【Find Aircraft Using the List】 View nearby aircraft in a list, ordered by distance from your current location. Yellow indicators and arrows show whether an aircraft is to the left, right, above, or below the direction your device is pointing. You can also quickly check information such as Distance, Speed, Altitude, and Flight. 【Match the Map to the Direction You're Facing】 On iPhone and iPad, you can choose between two map orientation modes. Heading Up: The direction your device is pointing is always shown at the top of the map. North Up: North is always shown at the top of the map. Heading Up makes it easy to compare the aircraft you see in the real sky with the aircraft displayed on the map. 【Apple Watch Support】 SkyPlane also works on Apple Watch. Use your Apple Watch to view nearby aircraft on a map or in a list, point your wrist to help locate aircraft in the sky, and check details such as flight number, aircraft type, airline, distance, altitude, and speed. 【Aircraft Position Data】 Aircraft position data in SkyPlane is provided by The OpenSky Network. Aircraft position data provided by The OpenSky Network. Other aircraft, route, airport, or airline information displayed in SkyPlane may come from other aviation data sources. Aircraft information may be unavailable, incomplete, delayed, or different from actual information depending on data availability.
