Store description excerpt
SkyLumi turns your phone into a window on the real night sky. Point your phone up. SkyLumi shows you exactly what's above you, rendered the way it actually looks — not flat cartoon diagrams, but photographic imagery from real observatory sky surveys, with accurate star colors, true brightness, and the Milky Way as it actually appears from where you're standing. No astronomy background required. No account. No ads. SkyLumi is completely free. POINT AND IDENTIFY Tap Aim and hold your phone up. SkyLumi uses your phone's real motion sensors and compass to track exactly where you're pointing, so the screen follows your hand across the sky. That bright dot above the horizon? Point at it and find out. Planets, bright stars, all 88 constellations, galaxies, nebulae, star clusters — plus the International Space Station and Starlink satellites passing overhead, computed live from real orbital data. Open AR and the sky is drawn over your camera view, so what's on screen lines up with what's over your head. IT LOOKS LIKE THE REAL SKY Most star apps draw you a diagram. SkyLumi renders the sky photographically, from genuine observatory surveys — zoom into the Orion Nebula or the Andromeda Galaxy and you're looking at real astronomical photography, credited in-app to the observatories that captured it. Prefer a classic look? Switch to the stylized catalog view, or the painterly Sky Field mode when you want the sky to feel like art. FOR THE MOMENT YOU LOOK UP AND WONDER SkyLumi is built for the questions everyone actually asks: • "What's that bright star next to the moon?" • "Is that a planet or a plane?" • "Which one of those lights is the ISS?" • "Where is the Andromeda Galaxy right now?" You don't need to learn constellation names first. You point, and you get an answer. COMPLETELY FREE SkyLumi is free. Not free-with-ads, not free-for-seven-days, not free-until-you-hit-the-good-part. There is no account to create, nothing is locked, and there are no ads anywhere in the app. Every feature described on this page is included. ALSO IN SKYLUMI • Night vision mode — a deep red display that preserves your dark adaptation outside • Horizon view — the sky over your actual horizon, from your location, at this exact moment • Search — jump straight to any planet, star, constellation, or deep-sky object • The Moon with its real phase, and the planets along the ecliptic • Live satellite passes — the ISS and Starlink, propagated from current orbital elements • Real observatory imagery with full credits to the surveys and institutions behind it FREQUENTLY ASKED Does it work in a city? Yes. Bright stars, the planets, the Moon, and ISS passes are all visible from a city, and SkyLumi shows you where to look for each of them. Do I need any equipment? No. SkyLumi is built for the naked eye first. The photographic zoom shows you far more than your eye can see — the sky's own photography, brought to your phone. Does it work offline? The core sky — stars, constell
