Skate Labs Alpha is Global SKATE: the oldest game in skateboarding, played with the people life took somewhere else. HOW A GAME WORKS You set a trick — and you have to land it first, on film. No claiming what you can't do. Your opponent gets 24 hours, 72 hours or a full week to answer, depending on the window you chose when you started the game. They prop the phone up and film one attempt. Land it, and the game carries on. Miss it, and they take a letter. Five letters and it's over, same as it's always been. Nothing happens in real time. Set a trick before work, answer one after the session. Different cities and time zones are the point, not a problem. FILMED HERE. ONE ATTEMPT. Every official attempt is recorded inside Skate Labs, in one uninterrupted take. There is no gallery upload and no retake button. That is the whole reason a call means something here. YOUR OPPONENT CALLS IT The clip decides. Your opponent watches it and accepts it or disputes it. If you two disagree, a person reviews the clip — never an algorithm. There is no automatic trick detection and no ranking ladder. This is a game between two people who know each other. SPOTS A map of about 30,000 skateparks imported from OpenStreetMap, plus spots skaters add themselves: ledges, banks, bowls and flat ground. Sensitive spots publish at approximate locations only, and exact pins for private property stay closed. We're not here to get anyone busted. Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors. TRICKS BOARD Landed, missed and land rate for every trick you've played, built only from official attempts with a settled verdict. Nothing else counts. WHAT WE LEFT OUT No feed. No followers. No likes. No discovery page. No open DMs. Chat exists inside a match and nowhere else, and it goes read-only 24 hours after the game ends. You only see the people you actually play. WHAT YOU NEED An email address, a camera, a spot, and someone to play. The app asks for camera and microphone access to record official attempts, location to show nearby spots, and notifications to tell you when it's your turn. You can decline location and notifications and still play. THIS IS AN ALPHA Skate Labs Alpha is an early test build for adults — 18+ only. It is rough in places and things will change while we test.
