SimStreet is a paper-trading simulator built for people who want to understand investing before risking anything real. Every account starts with $10,000 in fictional funds. There are no real trades, no brokerage account, no deposits and no in-app purchases. Nothing you do here touches real money. WHAT YOU CAN DO - Buy and sell any company in the S&P 500, plus an S&P 500 index fund, using practice money - Read a report card for any company: a letter grade, plus four numbers that matter — what you pay per dollar of profit, how much of each dollar the company keeps, how fast it is growing, and how much it owes — each shown against the median for its sector, so a figure always has something to be compared to - Say why you're buying in one sentence, and see that reason again months later when you go to sell - Watch your portfolio's value, your mix of index versus individual picks, and how far you have drifted from the balance you set LEARN AS YOU GO Five levels cover time horizon and what a real crash looks like, what a share actually is, why owning the whole market works, how to read a company, and how to think about a portfolio. Finishing a level credits $1,000 more practice money to invest. Nothing is locked. You can buy any company from your first day — the levels teach, they don't gate. PLAY WITH FRIENDS Create a private league, share the invite code, and compare returns with people you know. There is also a global leaderboard where portfolios appear under rotating anonymous handles rather than names, and you can opt out of it entirely. There is no free-text chat between members by design. IMPORTANT SimStreet is an educational simulator. It is not a brokerage, not investment advice, and no real money is ever involved. Prices are delayed — refreshed about every ten minutes — and are provided for learning, never for making real financial decisions. You must be 13 or older to create an account.
