Store description excerpt

Write your workout as a markdown file. Simply Train reads it and runs the session. No account. No subscription. No tracking. Nothing to set up before your first set. HOW IT WORKS Your workouts are plain .md files in iCloud Drive. Write one in the app, or in any text editor you already use. Open a file, tap Start, and the app walks you through it set by set: the target, the rest countdown, then the next one. THE PLAYER Work steps wait for you. A set shows its target and holds until you tap Start, then counts up until you tap Done. Rests are either a fixed countdown or open, which counts up and waits for you to move on. A file that asks for no rest does not get one imposed on it. Timers run on wall-clock time and keep running when the screen locks or you switch apps. Audio cues duck your music instead of stopping it. Haptics mark every transition, so the phone can lie face down on the bench and you can still tell where you are. The running session mirrors into a Live Activity and the Dynamic Island. On Apple Watch it becomes a remote and a mirror for the player on your phone. THE EDITOR Thumb-type a workout on your phone, edit side by side with a preview on iPad, or use a document window and a real keyboard on your Mac. The editor parses as you type. When a set line does not make sense it tells you which line and what it expected, in plain words, instead of skipping it or saying "syntax error". Start by name with Siri, Spotlight, or Shortcuts. WHAT IT DELIBERATELY DOES NOT DO There is no history, no charts, no streaks, and no Health data. Your watch already measures the workout. This app runs it. A session ends with a summary, and then it is gone. There is no server and no account, so there is nothing to sign into and nothing to export. The app makes no network calls of its own. iCloud sync is the system's, not ours. THE FORMAT Files use the lift.md format (LiftMark Workout Format), the work of its authors, licensed CC BY-SA 4.0, plus a small set of documented extensions. A valid lift.md file is a valid Simply Train file. Nothing is locked in a database: your workouts stay text you can read, search, version, send to a friend, or open in something else entirely in ten years. ACCESSIBILITY Dynamic Type everywhere, including the player at its largest sizes. VoiceOver labels on every step, with rest milestones announced. Controls sized for hands that are tired and sweaty. Light and dark both readable in bright daylight and in a dim garage.
