"Silicon Island" is an AR (Augmented Reality) guided tour app specifically developed for the "Taiwan-France Cooperation and Exchange Forum – The Story of Silicon Island." This application is designed to work in conjunction with the special exhibition "A Grain of Sand, A Drop of Water, A World," held to commemorate the 115th anniversary of National Tsing Hua University and the 70th anniversary of its establishment in Taiwan. Through AR technology, it combines virtual digital content with physical exhibits, guiding visitors through the intersection of technology and art to deeply experience the legendary charm of Silicon Island. Exhibition Information: Exhibition Name: "A Grain of Sand, A Drop of Water..." "One World" Exhibition Dates: April 22-28, 2026 Exhibition Venue: Macronix Building, National Tsing Hua University (Big Half Circle) Address: No. 101, Section 2, Guangfu Rd., East District, Hsinchu City 300 The dramatic changes in the post-pandemic era have unexpectedly brought Taiwan, this silicon island, into the global spotlight… In 2022, we visited the Taiwan Semiconductor Research Center and National Tsing Hua University, attempting to understand Taiwan's technological positioning and industrial perspective amidst the US-China rivalry. In 2023, at the Nemo International Digital Art Biennale in Paris, we used artistic language to present to an international audience the collective wisdom and resilience behind the silicon island… This forum originates from this journey across fields and exhibition spaces, inviting viewers—at the intersection of art and technology—to re-examine this island and reflect on the values, collective will, and future visions inherent in technological development.
