Store description excerpt

Drum Kit is an interactive music activity designed for children and young people of all abilities. Press the four large colourful pads to trigger drum sounds, musical motifs, or playback controls — and watch the screen come alive with animated visual effects. SIX MUSIC STYLES Choose from Big Band, Ragtime, Classical, Dance, Disco/Funk, and Jazz — each with a curated playlist of songs that loop and cycle at the press of a button. Songs range from Joplin ragtime to Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Debussy, jazz bebop, and four-on-the-floor disco. Pressing the same style button again advances to the next song in the playlist. THREE PLAYING MODES • Drums — each pad plays a different drum sound using high-quality sampled percussion (kick, snare, hi-hat, cymbal) • Motifs — each pad plays a short musical phrase tuned to the current song's key, so it always sounds musical • Control — pad 1 plays, pad 2 stops, pads 3 & 4 play kick and snare TWO VISUAL STYLES Switch between the Young (bright, playful) and Older (metallic, sophisticated) interfaces to suit any preference. Your choice is remembered between sessions. HIGH QUALITY AUDIO Background music is played using WebAudioFont — a bank of high-quality sampled instruments covering piano, strings, brass, bass, and full GM percussion. All music is stored on-device for offline playback. KEYBOARD ACCESSIBLE Full keyboard shortcuts for all four pads, play, stop, style selection, tempo, and volume — making the app accessible without touch.
