SelfCapsule Finance is a full budget and expense tracker that runs entirely on your iPhone and iPad. There is no account to create and no bank to connect. You export a statement from your own bank, import it, and keep the only copy. WHAT YOU GET, FREE - Unlimited accounts, transactions, and categories. No row caps - Budgets by category and month, with rollover so unused money carries forward - Savings goals with progress you can see - Recurring bills, payees, tags, and split transactions - CSV, OFX, and QFX statement import. Rows you already imported are skipped - Spending, category, and income vs expense reports over the last 3 months - Up to 5 automation rules, and 5 assistant questions a month - Face ID, Touch ID, or a PIN, with auto lock when you put the phone down - Export any filtered list of transactions to CSV, ready for a spreadsheet - Full data export as plain JSON or an encrypted backup. Nothing is locked in - Spotlight search, Siri Shortcuts, and two home screen widgets - A Share extension that sends a statement straight to the importer WHAT PRO ADDS, ONE TIME - Reports over 6 months, a year, year to date, or any custom range - Group by day, week, month, or year, and export any report to CSV - Net worth over time, and budget vs actual - Investment positions with cost basis and unrealized gains - Unlimited rules, and an unlimited assistant NO TYPING IN EVERY COFFEE Import a statement and the app reads it. Rows you have already imported are skipped. The assistant sorts new transactions into your categories on device. Rules you write catch the rest, and recurring bills post themselves. Manual entry is there when you want it, not because you have to. WHAT THE ASSISTANT ACTUALLY DOES It reads your balances, searches your transactions, checks a budget, and totals what a category cost you. Ask what you spent on groceries last quarter and the answer is computed from your own rows, on your own hardware, using Apple Foundation Models. Nothing is sent anywhere. There is no cloud model behind it, so there is no per question cost and no separate AI subscription. The free tier includes 5 questions a month and Pro removes the cap. It needs a device that supports Apple Intelligence. YOUR DATA, IN A FILE YOU HOLD There is no cloud, so there is no copy but yours. Export everything whenever you like, either as plain JSON you can open and read, or sealed with a passphrase only you know. Either way it is the whole thing: every account, transaction, split, budget, goal, rule, tag, payee, and saved filter. Restore it onto a new iPhone or iPad, or just keep it somewhere safe. Nothing here holds your data hostage. The flip side is real, so it is worth saying plainly: if you never make a backup, nothing can bring your data back. That is the honest cost of having no servers.
