Store description excerpt
Pass one phone around the table. Each player taps their own name, views their secret role, and hands it on. Five seconds each, and the card closes itself. By the time it comes back to you, everybody at the table knows exactly one thing: their own role. No second device, no accounts, no internet. Secret Roles deals private roles for hidden-role party games: the kind where one player has a different part and nobody is supposed to know who. One phone, or one iPad, does the whole table. HOW IT WORKS 1. Enter 3 to 20 player names. 2. Decide whether the Medic and the Jester are in play. 3. Pass the device. Each player taps their own name, sees their role for five seconds, and hands it on. 4. Play. The app is finished the moment the last role is dealt. THE ROLES Imposter — exactly one, every single game. Blend in. Stay undiscovered. Crewmate — everyone not otherwise assigned. Find the imposter. Medic — optional, one per game. You may save one player. Choose carefully. Jester — optional, one per game. Your goal is to have the group vote you out. BUILT FOR THE TABLE Every reveal runs on a five-second countdown and closes itself. Nobody can linger on a card, and there is no way back to one that has already been dealt. The only reset is a full re-deal, which puts every role back in the deck and starts the table over. Roles are shuffled twice: once to decide who gets what, and again to decide the order the device travels. Where you sit tells you nothing. “Use Last Players” reloads your regular group in one tap. Game two starts before the argument about game one is over. The screen stays awake for the whole deal, so nothing locks mid-pass, and it goes back to your normal auto-lock afterwards. Big, high-contrast neon type, sized to be read at arm’s length in a dim room and to be unmistakable when the card is finished with you. ON iPad Secret Roles supports all four iPad orientations and adapts its portrait and landscape layouts as the available window changes. The handoff prompt also names the device correctly: “Pass the iPad to Nova.” COMPLETELY OFFLINE No account. No sign-in. No ads. No in-app purchases. No analytics, no tracking, and no advertising identifier. The app itself makes no network requests; only a privacy-policy link opens the published page in your browser when you tap it. Gameplay works in a basement, in a cabin with no bars, and anywhere else the table happens to be. Nothing you type is sent by Secret Roles. The only thing saved is your last roster, kept locally so you can reload it next game night. You can erase it at any time with Clear Saved Roster, and deleting the app also removes it. WHY NOT SLIPS OF PAPER Someone always folds theirs wrong, someone always writes on the back, and someone always deals themselves the good one. Secret Roles assigns the right number of roles in seconds and shuffles both roles and reveal order. ABOUT Secret Roles handles the private role-dealing part of game night, then gets out of the way
