Everything is kept safely on your device. --- IMPORTANT PERMISSION EXPLANATIONS: To deliver its core app-blocking and habit-breaking features, ScrollDiet requires the following Android permissions: 1. ACCESSIBILITY SERVICE (Accessibility API): We use the Accessibility Service to detect when you are actively viewing YouTube Shorts or Instagram Reels screens. If your Reels/Shorts daily limit is exceeded, the service performs a global "Back" action to exit the video player layout. The service runs locally and never collects, captures, or transmits any of your screen contents, interactions, or private data. 2. USAGE ACCESS (PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS): Required to check which monitored application is in the foreground and track daily usage in seconds. This allows ScrollDiet to trigger the blocker page exactly when your daily limit is reached. 3. DISPLAY OVER OTHER APPS (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW): Used to display a full-screen block screen over restricted apps once their time limit is reached, and to show the floating timer companion bubble.
