Store description excerpt

The time is the reference. At 3:16, Scripture O'Clock shows you John 3:16. At 8:28, Romans 8:28. At 4:13, Philippians 4:13. The hour is the chapter and the minute is the verse, so every minute of the day brings a new passage — and the clock quietly teaches you where the words live. It's a simple idea that turns an ordinary glance at the time into a moment with the Word. A VERSE FOR EVERY MINUTE Every minute of the day is mapped to Scripture. The most beloved times are matched to the verses you'd expect — 1:09 brings "Take courage, and be strong," 11:28 brings "Come to me all you that labor and are burdened," 6:33 brings "Seek ye therefore first the kingdom of God." Every other minute is matched to a meaningful passage at that exact chapter and verse, drawn from the Psalms, the Proverbs, the Gospels and the Epistles. At the top of the hour, where there is no "verse 0," the clock shows the opening verse of that chapter. Every other minute of the day has a verse whose chapter and verse are exactly the time. Because the Catholic canon includes the deuterocanonical books, nothing is ever substituted or approximated. SEVEN LOOKS, OR LET THE CHURCH CHOOSE Midnight & Gold, Parchment, Violet, Rose, Marian Blue, Sacred Heart, Ordinary Green. Six are named for the colours the Church actually wears. Or turn on Follow the Church's Seasons and the clock dresses itself — violet through Advent and Lent, rose on Gaudete and Laetare, white at Christmas and Easter, red at Pentecost, green through Ordinary Time. Your iPhone works the calendar out on its own, offline. ON YOUR LOCK SCREEN Add the widget and the verse sits just beneath the time your iPhone already shows, so the clock and the Scripture read together as one. On iPhone models with an always-on display, it stays quietly visible. ON YOUR NIGHTSTAND Set your iPhone on its side while charging and StandBy turns it into a full-screen verse clock — a bedside companion that greets you with Scripture at whatever hour you happen to wake. Leave the app open overnight and it fades down after a few still minutes; a tap brings it back. ON YOUR WRIST, AND ON IPAD An Apple Watch app and complication put the verse a glance away all day. On iPad the clock fills the screen, which makes it a quiet fixture on a kitchen counter or a desk. A DAILY VERSE, IF YOU WANT ONE Choose a time and one verse arrives each morning — either the verse belonging to that minute, or verses on one of the seven virtues: humility, kindness, patience, diligence, generosity, temperance, and chastity, each the traditional answer to one of the capital sins. It's off until you turn it on, and your iPhone schedules every one of them by itself. SHARE A VERSE Tap the verse to share it as a card, or to copy the words — for a text to a friend, a group chat, or a note of your own. QUIET BY DESIGN Scripture O'Clock collects nothing. There are no accounts, no tracking, and no analytics, and the only notification is the daily verse you
