Scarlet Mask is a staging studio for commedia dell'arte directors and mask performers. Place your ten canonical masks on a virtual stage plan, turn each figure to its facing, and watch a live score tell you whether the picture reads or fights your audience. The heart of the app is the Boards: an interactive stage plan where you drag masked figures and a rule-based critic engine evaluates every arrangement against six commedia principles. A mask gone dead in profile, a servo upstaging his padrone, three bodies in a line instead of a triangle — every violation names itself, states the rule it breaks, and offers a one-tap fix. The score updates in real time as you work. Scarlet Mask holds the full company of ten masks — Arlecchino, Pantalone, Pulcinella, and the rest — each with its family, register, read-angle, lazzi repertoire, and compatible pairings. Build or generate a canovaccio from eight built-in scenarios. Use the Focus Bench to photograph your own leather mask, drag an eye-line and chin-line marker, and calculate exactly how far back in the house it reads. The Ledger tracks your whole season with score trends, stage-time splits, and pairing heatmaps. Set the house standard to Forgiving, Full House, or Exacting and every saved staging regrades instantly. Whether you are directing a troupe or measuring a mask you perform in, Scarlet Mask keeps the conventions of the form in the room with you.
