Scarlet Loop is a bench-side assistant for anyone who melts, refines, or recovers precious and base-metal scrap. It covers the complete cycle — from identifying a mystery piece to logging the ingot it becomes — with physics-based calculations that learn from your actual results over time. Drop two weights into the app — mass in air and mass submerged — and Scarlet Loop runs a specific-gravity assay against every alloy in its catalog, from 24k gold to A380 casting aluminium. It surfaces every grade that fits your reading, ranks candidates by likelihood, and tells you exactly what additional test would separate an ambiguous pair. Hallmarks resolve grade outright and are recorded as asserted rather than measured, because stamps can be forged and honest provenance matters at the crucible. Before you light the furnace, the melt planner solves reagent quantities, energy consumption, and expected yield — then issues a plain safety verdict. It selects the right refine route for your metal mix, from inquartation through aqua regia dissolution, and calculates stoichiometric volumes with a configurable practice multiplier. If the furnace cannot reach the alloy's liquidus, it says so directly and tells you not to start. Nothing surfaces mid-pour as a surprise. After the melt, log what actually came out. Scarlet Loop attributes any gap to specific loss stages — oxidation, volatile burn-off, crucible retention, cupel absorption — and updates its learned model of your furnace. Each reconciliation sharpens the next prediction. Ingots land in the Stock tab with live precious-metal value at your prices, ready to save as a composition card or return to the bench as feedstock. Everything runs offline — no account, no subscription, no cloud. The same inputs always produce the same numbers.
