SAR-MED is designed to support gold standard clinical practice by qualified Mountain Rescue England and Wales (MREW) Casualty Care Certificate holders in the provision of patient care during call outs within mountain and cave rescue environments. SAR-MED can also be used as a revision guide for aspirant trainee MREW Casualty Carers in preparation for Casualty Care Certificate examination. The medicines formulary and protocols published within SAR-MED are strictly governed by the MREW Medical Subcommittee under the leadership of the Medical Director for MREW. To use SAR-MED, you must be a member of a UK national rescue team that is recognised by MREW. SAR-MED app contains the following features: • National MREW Medicines Formulary drug doses, indications, contraindications, administration route and guidelines for drugs management • Clinical Guidelines a field guide summarising the latest medical and trauma management recommendations from MREW • Clinical Notices and MREW updates delivered directly to your smart device on demand • Clinical reference guides to support appropriate interpretation of patient vital signs • Quick Reference aide memoires for standard medical acronyms to support accurate communication during operations • Once downloaded, works offline without any signal
