Store description excerpt
Sankashti is your devotional companion for the Sankashti Chaturthi vrat — a monthly fast observed by Lord Ganesh devotees on the fourth day after the full moon. Get accurate Sankashti dates, moonrise times for your own city, and timely reminders so you never miss a vrat. Designed to be simple, beautiful, and respectful of the tradition. KEY FEATURES • Nitya — daily practice, gathered in one place. Ganpati Atharvashirsha, Vakratunda Mahakaya and Ganesh Chalisa for the morning; Sukhkarta Dukhharta and Ghalin Lotangan for the lamp; bhajans for the evening; and the official Bal Ganesh animated films for the family. The tab opens on morning stotras before four in the afternoon and evening bhajans after, because most households reach for the same thing at the same hour. • Ganeshotsav 2026 — a dedicated tab through the festival season, with a countdown to Ganesh Chaturthi, the day-by-day schedule from Sthapana to Anant Chaturdashi, and the visarjan days in between. • Full Sankashti calendar — every Sankashti Chaturthi date through 2027, including Angarki Sankashti (the highly auspicious Tuesday Sankashti). • Moonrise times for your city, not your timezone — 18 cities across India and the diaspora. This matters more than it sounds: Houston's moonrise runs up to 72 minutes later than Chicago's though both are US Central, and the fast is broken after moonrise. Using the wrong city in the same zone would have you break it early. • Live Darshan — watch live darshan from famous Ganapati temples including Shree Siddhivinayak (Mumbai) and Dagdusheth Halwai (Pune), all eight Ashtavinayak temples, and other revered shrines such as Shirdi Sai Baba, Somnath, and Mahakaleshwar. Tap your Morning Alarm notification and the darshan you chose opens straight away. • Daily prayer alarms — start the day with a Morning Alarm and wind down with an Evening Prayer reminder. Pick your own time or use the 6:00 AM / 7:00 PM defaults. Each alarm says plainly whether it is set. • Custom alerts and occasions — one-time reminders for temple visits or fasting days, plus optional reminders for monthly Vinayaka Chaturthi, Ganesh Jayanti, Ganesh Chaturthi, Anant Chaturdashi, and festivals like Diwali, Holi, Navratri and Maha Shivaratri. Turn each one on or off in Settings. • Smart Sankashti reminders — choose how many days before each Sankashti you want to be notified (7, 3, 2, 1 day, or on the day) in any combination. Notifications fire at the right local time for the place you select. • English, Marathi (मराठी) and Hindi (हिंदी) — a full trilingual interface with a one-tap language toggle, now including the alarms screen. • Reliable notifications — a "Test Now" button lets you verify your reminder setup works before the next Sankashti. • Source you can trust — dates and moonrise times come from Drik Panchang, a respected authority on Hindu astronomical and ritual timing. • Privacy first — no ads, no tracking, no in-app purchases, no account required.
