Store description excerpt
When there's no tape measure within reach, Ruler Cam gives you two ways to get a number: camera triangulation for things across the room, and a calibrated on-screen ruler for things in your hand. MEASURE DISTANCE WITH THE CAMERA Aim at the base of your target. Using the device's tilt angle and the eye height you entered, the app solves the triangle and returns the distance. No markers, no AR setup, no scanning the floor for thirty seconds first. MEASURE HEIGHT Same method, two shots: sight the base, then the top. Two angles give you the height of a tree, a pole, a ceiling or a building. ON-SCREEN RULER Calibrate the screen against a standard-sized object such as a credit card, and your display becomes a real ruler marked in centimetres and inches. Lay a small object directly on the glass and read its size. WHY CALIBRATION MATTERS Screen pixel density varies between devices, so an uncalibrated on-screen ruler is wrong on nearly every phone. Ruler Cam asks once, remembers the result, and is accurate afterward — rather than shipping a ruler that only fits the developer's handset. HONEST ABOUT ACCURACY This is not a laser rangefinder, and the app doesn't pretend otherwise. An estimated tolerance is displayed with every result, because hand shake and sloped ground genuinely affect it. Excellent for quick decisions; use a tape when the number has to be exact. PERMISSIONS Camera access is used only for aiming. No image is captured, stored or transmitted.
