Store description excerpt
Ruffly is a calorie diary built for speed. Type a number, add a name if you want, and you are done. Most entries take about five seconds. No barcode scanning. No database with nine entries for the same banana. No social feed, no streaks, and no notification telling you that you have broken a chain. FAST BY DESIGN • Home Screen widgets. The quickest log is the one that never opens the app: up to six one-tap buttons for the things you eat constantly, plus today's total at a glance. • Log a meal in seconds. A number, and optionally a name and a tag. That is the whole flow. • One-tap favorites, right where your thumb already is. • Today's total against your goal, as one large number and a ring. The question you actually opened the app to answer. STAYS ON YOUR IPHONE There is no account, no sign-up, and no server. Your entries are stored on your device. We could not read your food diary if we wanted to, because we never have a copy of it. Optional iCloud sync keeps your iPhone and iPad in step through your own private iCloud, not through us. It is off until you switch it on, and switching it off leaves everything on your device. The calorie calculator asks for your height, weight and age, uses them once, and forgets them. Those inputs are never written to disk, and reopening the screen starts blank. ALSO IN THE APP • Set a daily goal, or leave it empty and simply watch the running total. • Work a goal out with the built-in calculator, which uses the Mifflin-St Jeor equation. • Optional macros: carbs, protein and fat, off by default. • History by day, week and month, with a goal line. Days you did not log are left out of the average rather than counted as zero, because forgetting to log is not the same as fasting. • Export everything as CSV whenever you like. It is your data. FREE, WITH ADS Ruffly is free and supported by advertising. The ads are non-personalised. We never request your advertising identifier, so you will not see the tracking prompt, and nothing you log is ever sent to an ad network. One purchase removes the ads permanently, and it is shared with your family group. CONSISTENCY BEATS PRECISION 80 calories is a good answer when the real figure is 79 or 83. Pinning it down exactly would mean weighing every ingredient and trusting labels that are rounded anyway, and that work will not change a single decision you make. What makes tracking work is logging the same things the same way, day after day. Do that and the numbers add up to something you can act on. Ruffly is built to be quick rather than exhaustive, because an entry you will still be making in March is worth more than a meticulous one you abandon in January. Ruffly is not medical or nutritional advice.
