Room to Breathe finds the near-duplicate and similar photos clogging your camera roll — burst shots, near-identical retakes, screenshots you forgot about — and lets you clear out only the ones you choose. You decide what goes. Nothing else. Most cleanup apps pick a "winner" for you and quietly queue everything else for deletion. Room to Breathe works the other way round. Nothing is ever marked for deletion on its own. You tap the copies you want erased, and every photo you don't tap stays exactly where it is. How it works: • Scan your library. Room to Breathe compares every photo on-device using perceptual hashing, entirely locally. • Review side-by-side stacks. Similar photos are grouped so you can compare them at a glance. We label the sharpest, best-exposed frame as our suggested keep — but that's a hint, never a decision. If you'd rather not think about it, one tap on "Select the duplicates" ticks every copy but that frame, and you can still change any of them. • Tick what to erase. Ticked photos are outlined in red with a trash marker. Untouched photos stay plain. The screen tells you at all times how many will be erased and how many will be kept. • Confirm three times. A summary of exactly what you ticked, a plain warning that it's permanent, and a final step where you have to type the word ERASE before the button will even work. iOS then asks you one more time. Four gates before a single photo moves. Deleted photos go to your device's own Recently Deleted, exactly as if you'd removed them in Photos yourself, so you have 30 days to change your mind. Not sure yet, or nothing to clean up? Tap "Try a Sample Scan" to walk through the whole app using photos it draws itself. It needs no permission and never touches your library. Why Room to Breathe: • Nothing is ever selected for deletion without you tapping it. • Four separate confirmations, including type-to-confirm, before anything is erased. • 100% on-device processing — no account, no servers of ours, no analytics, no ads. • Your photos are never uploaded to us, tracked, or shared with anyone. • Clean, calm, distraction-free design. Room to Breathe doesn't touch your photos until you tell it to, and it never sends your photos anywhere. A note on iCloud: if an original photo is stored only in iCloud rather than on your iPhone, iOS may fetch it from your own iCloud Photos library so Room to Breathe can compare it here on your device. That happens between you and Apple — we have no servers and receive nothing.
