Roadtrip is for people who take the car on vacation. The route, the budget and the saving in one place – from the first evening of planning at home to the last mile home. THE ROUTE Set a starting point and add the stops along the way. The app works out distance and driving time leg by leg, draws the route on the map and fills in the countries you pass through. Arrival times are calculated for you, and if you fall behind, the rest of the timeline moves with you. Search for gas, food, restaurants, restrooms, groceries and parking along the exact leg you are on – every suggestion shows how far into the leg it is, in both kilometers and driving time. Pick your favorite chains per country and the map shows only those – when none is nearby you get them all as usual. When the route includes a ferry crossing, add the ticket with departure and booking number and get a reminder two hours before. THE BUDGET Split the trip into categories with a maximum amount each – the suggestions adapt to how many of you there are, where you're staying and what you drive. Each card shows what is left, and roughly how much a day that leaves you. Log a purchase in seconds. Point the camera at the receipt and the amount, date, store and liters or kWh are read on the phone itself – you see what will be filled in before you save. Enter the amount in euros or another of the trip's currencies and it converts using the European Central Bank's daily rate, or your own if you exchanged cash. Statistics show spending per day, totals per country, and a log of every fill-up or charge. The fuel category also shows the average price per liter or kWh. THE TRAVEL FUND Save up before you go and watch the total close in on the budget. During the trip purchases are deducted, so you always know what is left. ON THE ROAD Turn on drive mode and stops are checked off automatically as you pass them, while the map dims the road behind the car like a navigation app. Take a different route and the app draws the road you are actually on. Distances are measured from where you are, not between stops – you see what remains to the next stop, not how long the whole leg is. TOGETHER Share the trip over iCloud with whoever you're traveling with. You see each other's expenses and changes straight away, and the owner decides who may change what. Everything syncs between iPhone and iPad. On Apple Watch you get the next stop with its distance, what is left in the budget, and can log a purchase from your wrist. YOUR DATA STAYS YOURS No account with us, no tracking, no ads. The app contains no analytics and no third-party libraries. Receipts are read on the phone. Your location is used for the map, for checking off stops, for the distance to the next stop, for noting a ferry as taken and for the country flag – no location history is stored. Searches and route calculation go to Apple's map services, nothing to us. Export a whole trip to a file whenever you like, and get an automatic backup before a trip
