Store description excerpt

Muscle grows when you train close to failure. Riven measures how close you get on every set — detecting your exercise and counting reps with no manual input at all. ▶ APPLE WATCH REQUIRED Rep counting and muscle-failure detection run on the Watch's motion sensors. You need an iPhone (iOS 17+) paired with an Apple Watch (Series 6+, watchOS 10+). The iPhone app is the companion for setup, history, and plans — there is no iPhone-only mode. WHAT RIVEN DOES ◆ Auto-counts every rep from your wrist — no tapping mid-set, no phone out. ◆ Auto-detects 30+ exercises — bench press, squat, deadlift, curl, overhead press, rows, lateral raises, and more. ◆ Scores each set 0–100 the instant it ends: how close you came to true muscle failure. ◆ Color tiers you can read at a glance: red (stopped short), orange (working), yellow (near failure), green (true failure — the rep you couldn't have done). ◆ Weekly per-muscle summary: which muscle groups actually reached failure, and which ones you left in the tank. ◆ Workout log: sets, reps, exercises and scores, saved automatically and synced to Apple Health. WHY YOU NEED THIS Muscle grows from training close to failure — but "close" is almost impossible to judge on your own. Most lifters stop 3–4 reps short, on fatigue or boredom, and never know it. Without feedback you systematically under-train. Riven ends the guessing: every set ends with a score, every workout with a per-muscle verdict. HOW RIVEN KNOWS The Watch's motion sensors sample your wrist 100 times a second. From that, Riven reads: ◆ Velocity loss — as a muscle fatigues, reps slow down. This is the signal sports science validates against EMG, and it's Riven's primary metric. ◆ Rep consistency — when each rep stops looking like the last, control is breaking down before strength does. These combine into one Failure Proximity Score, 0–100, delivered the moment you end the set. Heart rate is recorded for your log and Apple Health, but it is not part of the score — HR reflects whole-body effort, not local muscle failure. WHY APPLE WATCH ONLY Because you already wear it. Riven works on every exercise — barbells, dumbbells, cables, machines, bodyweight — with nothing extra to buy, charge, or strap on. WHO RIVEN IS FOR Lifters who want feedback, not motivation. Anyone running a hypertrophy or strength program who cares about proximity to failure. Everyone who has wondered mid-set, "could I have done two more?"
