Store description excerpt
A guest from abroad steps in, looking a little unsure. A wave of the hand, a seat, the menu. Out comes a translation app; a photo is taken; a frown follows. There is so much worth saying about the food — but the words don't carry, and the app isn't helping. So the order lands on something safe, and the dish the house is proudest of goes untried. Again. “They came all this way, and we couldn't show them our best.” RESTO-PAAN exists to put an end to that quiet frustration. Photograph your menu, and RESTO-PAAN renders it in twelve of the world's major languages. Built for restaurant owners — you write the menu once, in your own language. Your cooking speaks to guests in theirs. ============== ■ Beyond translation apps — dishes that read as good as they taste Ordinary translation software swaps one word for another: gumbo becomes “GUMBO”, and the guest is left guessing. RESTO-PAAN explains what goes into a dish, how it's prepared, and what kind of plate arrives at the table — a translation that carries the context with it. One AI reads the menu, another writes about the food, and the right model is chosen for each job automatically. Handwritten chalkboards and specials boards are no trouble at all. ■ One photo is all it takes Photograph a paper menu or a chalkboard, and every dish name, description, and price is read into a tidy list — draft descriptions included. Review, adjust, publish. Done. ■ Present it however it suits the house - A QR code on the table brings up the multilingual menu on each guest's own phone - Or hand over the restaurant's tablet, ready to browse - Prefer paper? Print in three designs, export as PDF, Word, or CSV, and choose your paper size Whatever fits the pace of the evening and the character of the room. ■ Orders and the bill, no common language required Guests pick their dishes on their own phones and simply show the screen — the order comes across without a shared word. Tax, service charge, cover charge — the line items most likely to puzzle a visitor are laid out in their own language. Phrases every floor needs, “right this way, please” among them, come in twelve languages with pronunciation to match. Words may fail; hospitality won't. ■ From a former diplomat who runs a restaurant The app's creator once served at the Japanese Embassy in London, and today runs his family's restaurant — founded 75 years ago — in its fourth generation. He has stood on both sides: at a table, wanting to order without the words for it, and behind the counter on a packed evening. This app comes from knowing both. ■ Free, as a rule - Sign up and you're up and running - 100 dishes to start, and 30 more free every month - Everything included: twelve-language translation, QR, printing, service phrases - Most restaurants never pay a thing - Busy kitchens can top up with one-time dish packs — no subscription, ever - Purchased dish credits never expire, and a dish you've already translated can go on any menu at no extra cost ■ Made for res
