Most speed-reading apps teach you to skim and then congratulate you for it. Refine Reading is built the opposite way: your headline words-per-minute only moves when your comprehension holds up on the same round. Training is thirteen focused drills, each exactly 45 seconds. One round is one comparable dose - short enough to do on a commute, structured enough to actually measure. BUILT AROUND A REAL BASELINE A first-run timed passage plus a comprehension question measures where you genuinely start. No self-reported guesses. FOUR PACE DRILLS Tempo, Flow, Anchor and Silent train raw reading pace. These are the only drills allowed to move your WPM, and only when you answer accurately. NINE VISUAL-SKILL DRILLS Catch and Span train recognition. Schulte, Hunt, Pairs, Parity, Odd One and Sequence train grid scanning, duplicate spotting and sequence memory - the peripheral and visual-search skills that make faster reading possible in the first place. THE GAUNTLET A boss round combining four drills into a single benchmark, unlocked once you have three drills under your belt. HONEST PROGRESS Every drill scores 0-1000 on the same scale, so per-game bests sum into one total. Your WPM history chart records every pace round you attempt - including the ones that missed the comprehension gate - so speed bought by guessing shows up instead of being averaged away. Drills unlock progressively as your training time accumulates, and difficulty ramps quietly in the background. You are never shown a difficulty number or label, because chasing one is not the point. ENGLISH AND POLISH Both languages fully supported, chosen in the app rather than following your device. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No accounts. No networking. No analytics, no tracking, no ads. Everything stays on your device.
