RecordKeeper is a recording and transcription app built for anyone who needs a defensible record of a conversation — lawyers, consultants, journalists, auditors, and anyone else who takes what was actually said seriously. PRIVATE BY DEFAULT Every recording is transcribed on-device using local speech recognition. Nothing leaves your phone unless you deliberately turn on an optional cloud or external mode yourself. No account, no sign-up, no login — just open the app and start recording. EVIDENCE-GRADE, NOT JUST A VOICE MEMO Every recording gets a tamper-evident record the moment it's captured: a SHA-256 hash chained across every segment, so reordering, deleting, or altering part of a long recording is detectable — not just "the file wasn't edited." Long recordings are captured in rolling segments rather than one continuous buffer, so an app crash or interruption never costs you more than the segment in progress. EDIT WITHOUT LOSING THE ORIGINAL Correct a transcript in place, and the original engine output is preserved automatically — every edit is tracked, never silently overwritten. A correction always stays visible as a correction. THREE WAYS TO TRANSCRIBE • On-device — fully private, works offline, nothing transmitted • Cloud — your choice of provider (OpenAI, OpenRouter, Groq, or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint), using your own API key • External — hand audio to any other app via the share sheet, then paste a transcript back in AI ANALYSIS, WHEN YOU WANT IT Summarize a transcript, ask questions about it, or run any prompt you write against it — using a separate, optional provider you configure yourself. Build a reusable library of personas and prompts so you're not retyping instructions every time. Every analysis run is kept permanently, never overwritten. YOU CONTROL HOW LONG DATA STICKS AROUND Set an automatic deletion window — full recordings or audio-only — or turn it off and manage everything manually. Delete any recording, its audio, or its transcript at any time. BUILT FOR LONG RECORDINGS No arbitrary length limit born from a single in-memory buffer. Meetings, interviews, and depositions are captured in segments and stitched into one continuous transcript, with real crash protection built into the architecture itself. IMPORT AUDIO FROM ANYWHERE Share a recording from Voice Memos, Files, Mail, or any other app directly into RecordKeeper via the standard iOS share sheet.
