The ones that get lost when no one writes them down. RecMyStory helps you capture them while you still can. HOW IT WORKS Pick someone you want to interview — a parent, grandparent, partner, friend, mentor. Choose questions from a curated library of hundreds, organized by life themes: childhood, family, school, love, work, regrets, wisdom. The app suggests questions that fit the relationship. When you're ready, press record. The questions appear on-screen, gently, one at a time. You read them, ask them in your own voice, and listen. The app does the prompting so you can focus on the conversation. Swipe to change questions. Open the questions drawer any time to jump around. Pause when you need a break. Resume when you're ready. Record in portrait or landscape. When you stop, everything is saved to your device. FINISH IT LIKE A REAL INTERVIEW Add a lower-third card at the beginning — the person's name and a short description, styled like a broadcast interview. Turn on the question subtitle bar to show each question on screen as it's asked, so viewers can follow along. Trim the start and end to cut dead air, without touching the original recording. CAPTIONS, ON YOUR DEVICE After each interview, the app transcribes what was said — entirely on your phone, using Apple's on-device speech recognition. Nothing is uploaded. The words never leave your device. WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT This is not a content creation tool. No filters, no effects, no algorithmic feed. You can trim the beginning and end so the video starts where the story does, and captions are generated on your device so the words are searchable and readable — but nothing here is designed to turn a memory into content. It stays what it was. PRIVACY BY DESIGN Your recordings live on your device. We don't see them. We don't upload them. We don't have servers that touch them. Captions are transcribed on your iPhone. The app was built so that we cannot access your content even if we wanted to. No account required. No tracking. No analytics. No ads. Ever.
