Your recipes are scattered. A card in your grandmother's handwriting. A photograph of a cookbook page. A screenshot of something a friend sent. A link you meant to come back to. Recipe Tin puts them all on one shelf. Photograph it and it is read for you — the title, the ingredients with their amounts, and the method, laid out and ready to cook from. Then you check it, because a reader can misread a 5 for a 6, and anything it was unsure of is flagged before it is saved. The original photograph is kept forever, so whatever the reading got wrong, what was actually written is still there. IN ANY LANGUAGE A recipe can arrive in one language and be kept in another. Photograph an Arabic card and keep it in English; keep a French recipe in French and send it to someone in Spanish. Eight languages: English, Arabic, French, Spanish, German, Turkish, Italian and Persian — the app speaks all of them, and search works across your whole shelf whatever language each recipe is in. A RECIPE THAT RUNS OVER THE PAGE Ingredients on the front of the card and the method on the back is normal. Add another page and it is read into the same recipe. Nothing already there is replaced. No sign-up. Your recipes live on your device and are never uploaded to us. Nothing to log into, nothing to lose a password for, nothing of yours on a server. Export the whole tin whenever you like. FREE, AND WHAT COSTS The shelf is free and always will be. Typing recipes in is free and unlimited — sections, method, macros, scaling, sharing and export, all of it. Reading a photo costs a read, and you get one free every day. A subscription raises that to 20 reads a day, adds searching online for something new to cook, reading a link into a recipe, estimating macros for ingredients the databases miss, and removes the ads. It buys the reading, not the keeping — your recipes stay yours on your device either way. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends.
