Rec10bit PRO is a focused, no-nonsense screen recorder for macOS that captures in true 10-bit HEVC — or Apple ProRes — preserving smooth gradients with no banding, end to end. CAPTURE MODES • Area — drag out any rectangle, with optional aspect-ratio lock • Window — point at any window and confirm; captured cleanly even when it's behind other windows, and brought to the front when you start • Full screen — record the display the app is on CUSTOM MODE • Set any custom aspect ratio (W:H) for the area selection • Or lock the capture to exact output pixel dimensions (e.g. 1920×1080) — drag the fixed-size frame to position it and the recording is rendered at precisely that size • Pick the codec per capture: HEVC (.mp4) or Apple ProRes 422 LT / 422 (.mov) VIDEO • 10-bit HEVC Main10 pipeline (Display P3 wide gamut), MP4 • Apple ProRes output (.mov) — near-lossless, intra-frame, edit-ready for Final Cut Pro and other NLEs • Three quality levels with automatic bitrate (HEVC) • Native-resolution capture — on Retina/scaled displays it records at the display's true native pixels (super-sampled), not the lower logical resolution macOS reports, for maximum sharpness (e.g. a 3008×1692 scaled display records at 6016×3384) • Pause and resume — the paused interval is removed from the final file, with no freeze frames • Auto-stops and saves if the source goes away — the captured window closes or the display is unplugged AUDIO • Record system audio, your microphone, or both — mixed into one track with a balance slider you can move while recording, not only before • Mute the microphone mid-take without stopping — a cough, an interruption — while the system audio keeps recording • Auto-ducking eases the system audio down while you're speaking and brings it back afterwards. Off by default • A level meter shows the microphone input before recording, so a silent take isn't a surprise at the end • Says so when the microphone stops working — unplugged, receiving no signal, or driven into clipping — rather than leaving it to playback • Audio-only recording — capture sound with no picture at all, for meeting notes or laying down a narration track first • Choose AAC 256k, ALAC lossless, or uncompressed 32-bit float • Optionally keep system audio and the microphone as their own files alongside the recording, so the balance can be redone later — and so ducking never touches the original STILLS • One-click PHOTO capture sharing the same source selection • Save as HEIC (keeps 10-bit, ~10x smaller) or PNG (universal, lossless) DESIGNED FOR MULTI-DISPLAY • Every mode targets the screen Rec10bit itself is on — move the window to the display you want, then record • A live overlay dims everything except the captured region and frames it (red while recording, cyan while paused), without getting in the way of the apps underneath MORE • Three themes (Normal / Dark / Light) • Four languages: English, 日本語, 简体中文, 繁體中文 • No account, no sign-in,
