Reading & Speech After Stroke is an app for adults who want to practice letters, phoneme sounds, syllables, reading, pronunciation, Text-to-Speech, and custom sound recordings after stroke, aphasia, apraxia of speech, dysarthria, or traumatic brain injury. The app is not a children’s alphabet game. It has no ads, no subscriptions, and no distracting gamification. The interface uses large buttons, high-contrast letters, and a simple screen grid, making it easier to use with reduced hand control, hemiparesis, or fine motor difficulties. KEY FEATURES: • Letter-sound practice Users can tap a letter and hear it through the device’s Text-to-Speech engine or through a custom recording, if one has been recorded. • Record phoneme sounds with the microphone Users can record their own sounds for letters and phonemes, listen to them, and use them during practice. This is useful when Text-to-Speech reads the name of a letter instead of the actual phoneme sound. For example, it may say “bee” instead of a short /b/ sound. • Syllable reading and sound blending The app helps practice how separate letters and sounds combine into syllables. • Text-to-Speech for communication Users can type letters, words, or short phrases on a large screen grid and have them spoken aloud by the device. • Simple interface after stroke Large buttons, a clear layout, and extra spacing help make daily home practice easier. • Support for 16 languages The app uses Text-to-Speech voices available on the device. You can switch languages to practice letters, sounds, syllables, reading, and pronunciation.
