Burn Day is a companion app for the Joe Rich Fire Department's burnday.joerichfirerescue.ca — a fast, at-a-glance way to check whether open burning is permitted today, without digging through RDCO's own site. FEATURES • Today's Status — live Venting Index and PM2.5 readings for the Joe Rich area, matching RDCO's daily open-burning determination • 8:15am Notification — get notified the moment burning is permitted, so you're not checking manually every morning during burn season • Your Own Threshold — RDCO's own rule uses a Venting Index of 55; choose 65 in Settings if you'd rather apply a stricter personal bar • Season History — a month-by-month calendar of every day's status going back through the season • "Burn Day" Calendar Sync — write the season's status directly into a dedicated calendar on your device, alongside your other calendars • Request Burn Permit — opens a ready-to-send email to RDCO with your name, address, phone, and email already filled in, if you've saved them • Resources — the outdoor burning hotline, permit best-practices guides, and links back to the full website, all one tap away PRIVACY Burn Day collects nothing. There are no accounts, no analytics, and no tracking of any kind. If you choose to save your name, address, phone, or email to speed up permit requests, that information stays on your device only — it's never sent anywhere except into the one email you choose to send.
