Inside the Sun, newly created photons take an average of 100,000 years to reach its surface. They do not travel in a straight line — they ricochet endlessly through solar plasma, absorbed and re-emitted in unpredictable directions until they finally escape. This is called a random walk. A journey that would take two seconds in a straight line becomes a hundred-millennia pilgrimage. Random Walk Compass brings that principle to the street. Spin the needle to a random bearing, follow it until something stops you, then spin again. No destination. No algorithm optimizing your route. Just a direction and whatever you find there. Spin Tap anywhere to spin the compass to a new random direction. Auto-Play Set the compass to spin automatically on a timer — any interval from 1 to 60 seconds. Walk Mode The compass face aligns to true North using your device's heading sensor, so cardinal directions stay fixed as you move through the world. Steps Mode Each spin pairs a direction with a random step count drawn from a range you set — a complete instruction for every leg of your walk. Voice Mode Clap your hands or make a sound to trigger a spin. The microphone listens for sound above a threshold you control, keeping your hands free. GPS Recording Record your route in the background, even when your screen is locked. Your path appears live on the map. Export Save your walk as a GPX file, GeoJSON, CSV, a map image, or an animated MP4 video.
