UENF Radio 87.1 FM is the first public radio station in the interior of Rio de Janeiro. It promotes science, culture, innovation, and citizenship in accessible language. Plural public communication, connecting university and society. More than a radio station, UENF Radio is a space for connection between the university and society. Born in the heart of the State University of Northern Rio de Janeiro Darcy Ribeiro, UENF Radio is the first public radio station in the interior of the State of Rio de Janeiro. A result of a partnership with Empresa Brasil de Comunicação, through the National Public Communication Network, the station's mission is to democratize access to information, value scientific production, and strengthen dialogue with the community. Since 2021, the radio station has been building a plural, educational, and participatory environment. Broadcasting on the 87.1 FM frequency, it expands its reach and brings content integrating science, culture, innovation, and citizenship to Campos dos Goytacazes and neighboring municipalities. With a contemporary adult profile and musical programming focused on Brazilian music, the station combines qualified information and a musical curation that values the diversity and cultural richness of the country.
