Store description excerpt

Rack Up keeps score for tile-based word games — and unlike a notepad, it knows the rules. Type the word, tap the tiles that landed on premium squares, and it does the arithmetic. Letter and word multipliers, blank tiles, the fifty-point bonus for using all seven, several words in a single turn, and the leftover racks at the end of the game. One purchase, and that is the end of it. No ads, no subscription, no account, and nothing about your games ever leaves your device. WHAT IT ACTUALLY DOES Real scoring, not a calculator Every letter carries its own value. Mark a tile as double or triple letter, set the word multiplier, and the total updates as you type. Two double-word squares in one play is handled, and so are the quadruple letter and word squares on the larger deluxe boards. Blanks that are obvious One button. A blank scores zero, and marking one clears any premium on that tile, because a blank on a triple letter is still worth nothing. Several words in one turn One tile placement often makes two or three words. Stack them with "Another Word" — each keeps its own multiplier. No skipping turns to enter them one at a time. Fix any turn, not just the last one Scored for the wrong player three turns ago? Delete that turn from the score sheet. The running totals correct themselves. It never loses your game Every change is saved as it happens. Close the app, take a call, let the battery die — the game comes back exactly where it was, mid-word if that is where you left it. The tile counter How many S's are left? Any blanks still out there? The Tiles tab tracks what has not appeared yet, and separates what is unseen from what is probably still in the bag. On an iPad, both at once The turn you are scoring stays on the left and the score sheet, tile counter or stats sit on the right. Checking a total no longer means leaving the word you are typing. Offline word check, on from the start Every word is checked against 168,000 words as you type — completely offline. It flags a word, it never blocks the play. You can always score it anyway, because the table decides, not the app. Turn it off in one tap if your table would rather not know. Definitions, if you want them Off by default, because looking a word up is the only thing here that uses the internet. Turn it on and scored words get looked up and kept, so the score sheet doubles as a record of what everyone actually played. The screen stays awake Your device sits on the table for an hour. It will not sleep between turns. TWO TO SIX PLAYERS End-of-game rack deductions, per-player stats, best word, bingo counts, and a full score sheet for the whole game. WHAT YOU PAID FOR No ads. No account. No tracking. No subscription. Out of the box the app never touches the network at all — scoring, the word list and your game are entirely on your device. The one feature that uses the internet, definitions, ships turned off, and turning it on sends nothing but the word itself. There is no sign-in,
