Store description excerpt
Now in Seattle, New York, San Diego, Philadelphia, and Santa Barbara. (more cities coming soon) Pick a bus stop and Raccoon Transit turns it into a living pixel-art scene: real arrival times, real weather, and a bench full of raccoon commuters waiting for the same bus you are. The arrivals board is live data for any stop in supported regions, so it shows what is actually coming and how many minutes away it is. Beside it sits the local temperature, a three day forecast, and the current EPA air quality reading. The arrivals board is live data for any stop in supported regions, so it shows what is actually coming and how many minutes away it is. Beside it sits the local temperature, a three day forecast, and the current EPA air quality reading. Finding your stop: - Search by stop name, stop code, or route number - Ask for the stops closest to you, if you choose to share your location - Heart the stops you use and switch between them without leaving the scene - Open straight to a favorite, or to search, whichever you prefer Add the arrivals widget to your home screen to keep a favorite stop's next departures in view without opening anything. Tap a departure and track it to put a live countdown on your lock screen. It keeps itself up to date as the bus gets closer, and the scene plays the wait out: the stop fills up, the bus pulls in, and then it has gone. Made for phones and tablets. On an tablet left on a counter or a desk it becomes a departure board you can read across the room. Raccoon Transit is free. There are no ads and no third-party trackers. Your favorites and settings stay on your device. Transit data comes from each region's own transit agencies, provided AS IS: through the OneBusAway API, an open source project of the Open Transit Software Foundation, and from agencies' own published GTFS and GTFS-Realtime feeds. Weather comes from Open-Meteo and air quality from EPA AirNow. This app is not affiliated with or endorsed by the OneBusAway project, the Open Transit Software Foundation, or any transit agency.
