Quitt is an app that talks you out of buying things. You describe a purchase, answer six questions, and get a receipt that says out loud what you already suspected. THE CHECK You pick whether it is a one-time purchase or a recurring expense. Then the product, the price, how often you will use it and how long it should last — or, for a recurring expense, how often you buy it. Quitt works out the cost per use and the cost per year while you type. Then six questions, one card at a time. Do you already own something similar? Is there a cheaper alternative? Is it good for you? Do you actually need it? How long have you been thinking about it? Does the price fit your budget? Before the result comes an optional check-in: hungry, irritable, lonely, tired, sad, in a great mood. It never touches your score. It only changes how cautiously Quitt reads the result back to you — and how long a parked decision rests. If a state is more baseline than snapshot, set it once in the settings and the check stops asking. THE RECEIPT The result is printed as a receipt. Not a checkout receipt: a decision receipt. It carries the price and the cost breakdown, the Quitt score from 0 to 100 on its scale, and a one-sentence verdict — from "Buy it. Everything checks out." to "Don't buy this." Under that: what each answer added or removed, and the opportunity cost, the sum this money could become if you invested it instead. You can open the calculation on any receipt and follow how the score came about: the neutral starting point of 50, what your answers moved, the raw total, and how that total is stretched onto the 0 to 100 scale. Every receipt carries a number and names the weights profile that scored it. The share button hands the receipt to the iPhone share sheet as an image. Where it goes from there is your decision. Quitt has no feed and no accounts. PARK IT INSTEAD OF BUYING IT Any receipt can be parked instead of acted on. The decision moves to the waiting room and rests there for 30 days — 45 if a check-in state was active. If you allow notifications, Quitt reminds you when the time is up. If you don't, parking works exactly the same, only without the reminder. Then one question: bought it anyway, or didn't need it after all? Every check stays in the archive as a past check, and the archive adds up what went unspent. EVERYTHING STAYS ON THIS IPHONE No account. No sign-in. No server. No tracking, no analytics, no advertising — not as a setting you can switch off, but because none of it is built in. The app sends nothing. You can tell Quitt your annual net income if you want to; it calibrates the score for recurring expenses. It stays in the local profile on this device and never lands in a check, a receipt, or the image you share. Everything can be exported as a file and imported back.
