Store description excerpt

Most weather apps are loud. Quiet Weather is not. No ads. No news feed. No push notifications begging you to come back. No account to make. It opens, it tells you what the sky is doing, and it gets out of your way. HONEST ABOUT WHAT IT DOESN'T KNOW Every forecast is a guess, and most apps hide that. Quiet Weather asks two independent weather models - Canada's GEM and Europe's ECMWF - the same question, and shows you how much they agree. When they agree, you can lean on it. When they don't, you get told, instead of being handed a false number with a confident icon on it. OFFICIAL ALERTS, WORD FOR WORD Warnings come straight from Environment and Climate Change Canada, matched to your exact location against the real alert polygon rather than to whichever city is nearest. They appear exactly as ECCC issued them - never rewritten, never summarised, never re-rated. Alerts are free and always will be. WILL THE RAIN REACH ME? The question a radar map never quite answers. Quiet Weather reads minute-by-minute precipitation at your exact pin and tells you when it starts, when it eases, and roughly how much - with a two-hour strip so you can see it coming. IS THIS NORMAL FOR HERE? A forecast of 27 degrees means nothing until you know whether 27 is warm for here in August. Weather Compared sets today, and the month so far, against ten years of measured history for your exact place - and you can look back at any month in the last decade to see what it actually did. RADAR THAT FEELS LIKE A MAP ECCC's 1 km rain and snow composites over a clean, responsive base map, with proper inertial pan and pinch, an hour of animation, and an optional overlay of the official alert areas. WIDGETS THAT EARN THEIR SPACE Thirteen for the home screen, the lock screen, and the watch. Hourly and daily strips with the temperature curve drawn properly - the art riding the line, highs and lows on one honest scale. Squares for a corner of the screen, including one that shows where the sun actually is in today's arc and one that puts the temperature on a scale from today's low to today's high. A full forecast panel, a dashboard with the four readings as rings, a rain countdown, the best window for your activity, official alerts, and sun & moon with the real terminator. On the lock screen: a gauge, a line, and the word above the clock. All of them wear whichever sky you choose. FOR THE THINGS YOU ACTUALLY DO OUTSIDE Thirteen honest day-readings - gardening, running, cycling, driving, the dog walk, hiking, camping, golf, the patio, photography, the school run, outdoor work, and clearing the driveway - each with a rating, the best window, and the one thing worth planning around. Plus fishing, paddling and boating conditions, and a night-by-night camping comparison that answers "which night", not just "is tonight any good". Frost warnings arrive in the evening, while there is still light to cover the plants and drain the hose. BUILT FOR CANADA ECCC alerts and radar. The Can
