Store description excerpt
QuickCompress compresses large PDFs and images on your Mac, fast, privately, and on device. Everything runs natively using built-in Apple frameworks. PDF COMPRESSION Drop a PDF and QuickCompress finds every image embedded inside it. It re-encodes them as JPEG at your chosen quality level, dramatically cutting file size while keeping text, layout, vectors, and layers intact. Five presets cover every workflow: • Smallest: downscales images to 1600px and compresses aggressively for the tiniest output • Balanced: high-quality recompression at Q85, the best all-around choice • High Quality: only converts raw image data; embedded JPEGs are left untouched • Email Fit: targets 23 MB (Gmail / Proton compatible), starting at the highest practical quality and only stepping down if needed. Files already under 23 MB are left unchanged. • Maximum (Rasterize): re-renders every page to a flat image at 150 DPI, matching online tools' sizes for the most complex design PDFs. Trade-off: text becomes an image (no longer selectable). IMAGE PROCESSING Drop JPEG, PNG, HEIC, or WebP files and choose what to do: • Compress: reduce file size while keeping the original format • Convert: change format to JPEG, PNG, HEIC, or WebP (smart UI hides the source format) • Remove EXIF: remove GPS and camera metadata without re-compressing • Queue hundreds of images for compressing/converting at once. The action bar automatically detects queued file types and only shows relevant options. PRIVACY FIRST Files are processed on your Mac. No accounts required.
