Private Play turns your own photos and videos into a full-screen vertical feed you actually want to scroll — with an encrypted vault underneath. WHY PRIVATE PLAY Most "hidden album" apps bury your media behind a clunky viewer and still sync it to someone's servers. Private Play does the opposite: the short-video feed you already know how to use on top, a private on-device vault underneath. No login, no analytics, no server that ever receives your media. A FEED, NOT A FOLDER • Swipe up to play the next item — instantly. Neighbors are preloaded, so there is no spinner between clips. • Photos and videos live in one feed. Videos play, photos hold for a beat, then it moves on by itself. • Tap to pause. Double-tap to favorite. Hold for 2× speed. Pinch to zoom into a photo or a playing video. • Drag the progress bar to scrub, with a live frame preview. FAVORITES AND SHUFFLE • Favorites is its own tab and a one-tap filter in your library. Double-tap anything to add it. • Shuffle plays your whole library in random order, in the same swipe feed. Tap reshuffle for a new run. • Two ways to watch: Play for newest-first, Shuffle for surprises. IMPORT IN SECONDS • Add from Photos — select as many items as you like in one pass. HEIC and HEVC keep their original format, never re-encoded. • Import from Files — anything on your iPhone, in iCloud Drive, or on a connected drive. • Share sheet — send media to Private Play from another app, up to 100 at a time. • Release any item back to Photos whenever you like — including after a free trial ends. AN ENCRYPTED VAULT, ON YOUR DEVICE • Imported photos and videos are secured with on-device encryption. • Encryption keys live in the iOS Keychain and never leave your iPhone. • Face ID unlocks the vault, and it re-locks the moment you leave. • Playback mutes and pauses the instant you switch apps — nothing lingers in the app switcher. PULL FROM YOUR OWN NAS (OPTIONAL) • Mirror media down from your own NAS via DS file, an SMB share, or any WebDAV server. • One-way by design: Private Play downloads from the server you configure and never uploads your media anywhere. • Synced media stays in the local library, outside the encrypted vault. Off by default. PRIVACY BY DESIGN • Stays on your device — not on our servers. • No account, ever. We never ask for your name, email, or phone number. • No analytics SDKs, no advertising identifiers, no third-party trackers. • Works fully offline. No sign-in and no connection required. • Biometrics are handled by iOS; the app only learns whether the check passed.
