Don't buy a $100 posture gadget. The AirPods already in your ears have motion sensors in them — DeSlouch just puts them to work. Calibrate once ("this is me sitting tall"), and when your head has been drooping for more than a few seconds you get a soft buzz in your ears. Sit up, and it goes quiet. IT KEEPS WORKING WITH THE PHONE LOCKED Put the phone face-down on the desk or in your pocket. DeSlouch runs in the background and the nudge arrives in your AirPods — not as a notification you might have muted, but as a quiet buzz you actually hear. NO AIRPODS? THERE'S A PHONE MODE TOO Experimental, and we'll say so plainly: worn flat against your body with the screen on, the phone itself can feel your torso tip forward. It works, but it asks a lot — the AirPods mode is the one this app is built around. A NUDGE, NOT A NAG • It alerts because you are actually slouching — never on a dumb timer. • Brief bends are ignored. Tying a shoe is not a posture problem. • Walking pauses detection automatically. • Pick the feel: single tap, double tap, pulse, or one long low buzz. • Missed the first one? It can repeat a few seconds later — and it stops the moment you straighten up. Quiet hours whenever you need them. • A little character on screen slouches when you do. Straighten up and so does it. HONEST NUMBERS Upright time, slouches caught, longest tall streak. Enough to see progress — not another dashboard to manage. HONEST EVERYTHING, ACTUALLY • Free. No subscription, no ads, no in-app purchases. • Your posture data never leaves your phone. No account. Sensor readings are processed on the device and discarded. • In phone-wearing mode the screen stays on (iOS needs it for sensor access) — we dim it to near-black and say so up front, instead of pretending otherwise.
